John Schommer

One of basketball's first superstars: the first University of Chicago athlete to win twelve varsity letters, captain of the 1908 team later named Helms national champions, and a player in the demonstration basketball tournament at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics. He was one of the first four players enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 1959, yet no card of him existed until the Hall issued a metal card in 1986, twenty-six years after his death.
